the IRON COLUMNS 2 x 12'' comp. comes in a thick gatefold sleeve and a thick booklet that´s glued to the sleeve. so no scans of the artwork this time! to be honest all I read so far were the lyrics of the bands. the rest of the booklet annoys me right from the start with headlines like "DEAR ANARCHIST BROTHERS AND SISTERS" e.g.! the few things I noticed seem to deal with sexism and mind manipulation which is basically a pretty intersting topic (b.t.w. in correct English shouldn´t it be "WAR AGAINST TERRORISM" instead of "WAR ON TERROR"?) but I ´d to doubt that there is anything you can explain to someone who doesn´t have at least some basic knowledge in that matter with that little info you can provide with such limited space! but as I haven´t read that much I can´t really judge! anyway, take a look on the list of the bands that appear on this compilation if these names are no reason for you to download, probably nothing that I could add would be a reason for you to do so! cause of this I´ll just tell you that MAKHI are better known as SEVERED HEAD OF STATE and that I´ve been told that their tracks from here are included on a SEVERED HEAD OF STATE discography CD where the name MAKHI isn´t even mentioned, that the 3 KRIGSHOT tracks (one being a cover of, you guessed it, MOB 47´s KRIGSHOT) aren´t available anywhere else as far as I know and that the worst band on the comp. is Dutch BOYCOT but that was to be expected! oh, and on my copy the labels were completly messed up!

the DOOM / CRESS split10” is another classic in the history of DOOM who offer 4 tracks of CRUST you would expect from them! CRESS offer 4 tracks of drumcomputer PEACEPUNK! well, I was never that much into PEACEPUNK as I tend to find it boring 99% of the time, but as I know these guys personal and therefore know that they are great people they belong to the exceptions!

and now back to bragging: when CRESS stayed at the house I was living way back then their singer / keyboarder told me that he was tired as fuck and would love to take a shower and go to sleep right after that but feared that would not happen cause of the party noise (there were CRESS, DETESTATION and OPERATION staying at our house that night and the party was the aftershow party of the CRESS, ERADICATE, OPERATION, DETESTATION show in Regensburg which was a hell of a show) and the lack of a towel! so I offered him a towel and my room to sleep in! I went back upstairs and continued to harass Bri (from this band called DOOM who was the driver for CRESS) for being SELL OUT cause I found LOST & FOUND records were selling a video that featured DOOM (poor Bri was harassed by me, ClAUS-ROTTEN of REVOLTE and Füx of BAD INFLUENCE records while each of us 3 was drunk as hell)! Bri proofed that he can take a joke that night! when I went in my room to fetch some weed I couldn´t believe my eyes: my whole mess was cleaned up by Ste! that probably means I lived in a real chaos and we knew how to party back in the days!

I could tell you now that Ben of DROP DEAD did the same 2 weeks earlier or that one of the GOMORRHA singers had the honor to be harrased by ClAUS-ROTTEN and me for shit I can´t remember anymore, too…but those are other storys
