THIS 7" WAS CHEAP!

this is the 1st RAZORS 7" which was self-released by the band in 1979! this is one of the cheapest rarities I ever bought as I bought it for 5 bucks. the reason why I got it so cheap was that the cover is so fucked up...well, yes that´s true but as I put the record on the turntable and not the cover...who gives a fuck?

LIVE @ KRAWALL 2000

some more Hamburg tape only recordings. this time most of the stuff was recorded live at a place called Krawall 2000 (translates to Riot 2000). the CORONERS recordings are from a tape I got from one of Hamburgs 1st PUNKS back in the early 90ies without a cover or a tracklist. other recordings are from a Krawall 2000 livetape comp. featuring CORONERS, BUTTOCKS, HANS-A-PLAST, RAZORS, etc. and as there was a track from MEINE SCHUPPEN and one from SPIEL 77 that were never released on vinyl as some kind of bonus on the tape without cover I included those 2 tracks too! I didn´t rip the whole Krawall 2000 livetape. the stuff I left out is the stuff of some Swedish bands and some German stuff. however, I included one track of HALT DIE SCHNAUZE so you might get a clue why I didn´t rip the rest of the german stuff! quality isn´t the best but as written in a previous post if you do care for soundquality on this kind of recordings you´re a fucking idiot anyway!

IN THE CITY OF DEATH

Hamburgs RAZORS were one of Germany´s 1st PUNK bands back in 1979. their official discography states 3 7"es, the BANNED PUNX 12" and their full length. however there are some tape only recordings like this 11 tracks that were recorded live in their rehearsal room in 1985 with a new singer (their original singer disappeared in the 80ies, so Lui from PUNKENSTEIN / NAPALM did the vocals on BANNED PUNX, but showed up again years later when RAZORS reformed and released a new 7"). the quality isn´t top notch but when you care about soundquality on recordings like this - you are a fucking idiot anyway! period and end of essay!

THE WASTED LIFE OF LOW DOWN KIDS

the 2nd 7" of Hamburgs THE RAZORS which were among Germany´s first PUNKbands and released their 1st 7" CHRISTCHILD (will be posted here sooner or later as well) themselves in 1979. this one is from 1980 and was released on ROCK-O-RAMA records as you can see on the cover. you need to understand that H. Egoldt the motherfucker behind the label never was PUNK and neither was he a NAZI - he was in it for the money! when he had released BÖHSE ONKELZs DER NETTE MANN 12"and saw he could make more money with that kind of sound he settled on the R.A.C. / WP thing. it´s sad that so many great records have been released by this bastard before he switched direction. I´ve heared that even his rightwing bands weren´t to pleased with him as he was ripping them of constantly. back to THE RAZORS...I had their BANNED PUNX 12" posted before so you might be familiar with how they sound but on this record it´s their original singer on vocals!

A MADHOUSE MEETING OF BANNED PUNX!

this is a classic! repeat! this is a classic! RAZORS´ BANNED PUNX 12", released in 1982 on KONEKSCHEN RECORDS (one of the 1st german PUNKLABELS) is among the 5 best german records that have been released in the 80ies! I guess I would have killed for this 5 song 12" that runs on 45 rpm while I was trying to get ahold of this gem! RAZORS were part of the early HH-scene (together with BUTTOCKS, NAPALM, SCREAMER, COPSLAYERS, CORONERS, etc.) so you shouldn´t wonder that the vox aren´t done by the original singer Danker, they´re done by Lui who did the vox on the PUNKENSTEIN 7" and played in NAPALM as well! RAZORS did 3 7"es, this 12" e.p. and a full length 12", and some comptracks in the 80ies. they reformed in the late 90ies (I think they did some new stuff again) and may still be around! both 12"es have been re-released for their reunion as a double 12" or maybe they reunited cause of re-release! what most people don´t know is that there is more than the vinyl stuff! there is a tape (recorded in their rehearsal room which happened to be on a ship) that is better than the rest of their 7"es and the other 12" and some live tracks on some old tapecomps! I´ve been told that their singer disappeared and nobody knows what happened to him! basicly the same 20 - 30 people wrote and recorded most of the classic records during that period in Hamburg!
and for the record: not only that RAZORS tape but some of the coolest songs from this time never made it on vinyl! ever heared UNTER DEN BRÜCKEN HAMBURGS from SPIEL 77 or DER NAZIHIPPIE from MEINE SCHUPPEN? no? sorry you!
