I hate to say this but EXTORTION's last 5" called GET FUCKED is as close to a total let down as by any means possible! just 2 songs of which one is a boring sludgey 2 min something instrumental (in case you don't know yet let me tell you that instrumental is just another word for boring in most cases anyway) and the other is mediocre at best in spite of the fact that it has some nice drumming that brings old D.R.I. to mind. while I don't know why the 5" is hand-numbered and ltd. to 300 copies although there were 500 copies of the 5" pressed. as my source is Sandro from R.S.R. himself I got this straight from the horses mouth so too say but all I remember is that he said he did 500 cause the price for 300 copies is nearly the same as the price for 500 copies though. well, the same is also true for covers so that's not really an explanation either. thinking about it... perhaps he just released the 5" as a favor for someone even though he thought he wouldn't be able to sell more than 300 copies of it? hmmm.... click the cover if you don't believe me! password = mean

LAUNCH

this is the vinyl version of EXTORTION's demo tape + 2 extra tracks released on COFFIN CUT RECORDS in a ltd. white label edition of 500 copies. the cover above is the regular cover the cover below is the cover of a special edition called LAUNCH that was ltd. to 100 copies and sold at a show only. when I ordered 2 copies from the label I got both versions and a letter that said: "Sorry, dude I ran out of regular covers so I send you one copy with a Launch-cover!" nothing to complain about, right? well, in theory that's true but in reality it doesn't really matter when both 7" surface so wrapped they can hardly be played at all cause they are only sent in an envelope without any cardboard to back them up. seriously if you run a label you should know how to pack your stuff! if you have any doubts how to do that properly I suggest you order something from VEDA VU and take a close look at the parcel you receive (a look at the packaging of their releases won't hurt either! trust me on that!). while the regular version comes in a white dust-sleeve and only has stamped "SIDE A" on the label of, you guessed it, side A the LAUNCH version comes in a red dust sleeve and has EXTORTION stamped on the label of side B and the inlay is not only a xeroxed piece of paper but printed on glossy paper normally used for photos. the 10 tracks from their demo have been recoded on 4 tracks and therefore sound even rawer than the recordings on the TERMINAL CANCER 7" and also incl. a cover of BLACK FLAG's FIX ME. the rip sounds a little bit strange on some parts that's cause the records are wrapped, sorry! a better high quality rip would be highly appreciated here!

DISTORT EVERYTHING!

here you get down under's top notch thrashers EXTORTION sold out split 7" with JED WHITEY. I saw that on some other posts already but as I like it I decided to post it nevertheless. why does mine have 2 different covers you might ask? well, cause mine is one of the 150 that came exclusive with an issue of Australia's DISTORT zine to the subscribers. in case you don't know the zine let me suggest you check it out as it's one of the best zines around. music-wise you get 5 new slashers from EXTORTION incl. a cover of BLACK FLAG's FIX ME and 2 more PUNK sounding tracks from JED WHITEY.

SHIT FOR BRAINS

MOSH EISLEY's Rob wrote this about the EXTORTION / RUPTURE split 5" some time ago: "...Up next is the brand new split 5" of everybodys darlings from Australia EXTORTION and once famous RUPTURE. What a promising team up you might think! Well... Okay the EXTORTION side serves what you expect. Very pissed in your face blasts. Highspeed powerviolence like on their previous records. A very short attack which is over shortly after it started. 3 songs, 3 minutes. But I have to say that EXTORTION did better before. These 3 songs don´t have what their other records had. Theses 3 songs sound like outtakes to me. Definitely not as good as their older stuff. Oh well, the RUPTURE side of this split 5": I don´t have to tell you how good their 1st 7" and their 10" are. Legendary stuff! But what is this? Strange, annoying, boring punk rock. There is just one good aspect on this side of the record: Just one short song. I can´t stand it!! Decide for your self if you need a very short record because of a good band that has done better before and a legendary band that embarrasses themselves? Maybe I´m going to upload this 5" however, so that you don´t have to buy it..." well, as I got a weak spot for 5"es I bought it anyway and while I agree with Rob I think he has left out the most important point! RUPTURE are stupid enough to think that there is someone, somewhere who is provoked cause their song is called VEGETABLE CUNT FUCK and not just bored as fuck... now EXTORTION's 3 tracks are called SHIT FOR BRAINS, FUCKED IN THE HEAD and PATHETIC and quotes from the lyrics would be: "I can't believe I put up with you, just so I don't appear so rude, you're so boring you drive me insane, it's plain to see you got shit for brain" or "you're fucking disgusting, worth less than nothing, and after all you said, fucked in the head" and now if you think about it, it seems pretty obvious that EXTORTION are talking about RUPTURE in their songs! pathetic idiots with shit for brains... the description fits RUPTURE perfect! of course I can't proof that but as you can't proof me wrong I'll stick to that opinion! click the hate ape to download!
