ok, here we go again: I know that the HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH / SIDETRACKED split 6" is sold out cause COWABUNGA's CEO Nick told me that the 2 copies I got together with the 7" test press of this split were his last 2 copies. truth be told I'm not so much into SIDETRACKED. they aren't bad and they know how to handle their instruments but it just doesn't click you know. GREAT ANNOYANCE AND DISPLEASURE

a while ago, when I posted HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH's 1st 7" I said that I might post their split 10" with CHAINSAW TO THE FACE as well and here it is. I know that it has been posted on a few other blogs before but I love HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH and as I got the permission of Mr. Lovro who runs COWABUNGA RECORDS to post all his out of print releases with the exception of WEEKEND NACHOS' TORTURE 7" (cause it will be repressed soon) I thought I should post it anyway. as you can see on the pics below I was lucky enough to snatch one of the 170 copies that came on purple marbled wax . as you should be familiar with HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH music-wise by now I'll keep this one rather short and just tell you that they just deliver 6 tracks on their side which is way less than I'd have expected but the quality makes up for that. CHAINSAW TO THE FACE offer you 15 tracks on their side and are no let-down either! they are fast, they are vicious, they are brutal but most of all they are good! check them out!

GUTRIPPER

one of the best bands I discovered in the last years are HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH and therefore you get their 1st 7" here. released by FATALIST, 625 and GIVE PRAISE in 2007 with a print-run of only 500 copies that should be long gone by now. I thought about posting their 20 (!) track 5" as that's my favorite HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH record but as that was re-pressed only a short time ago (I got an extra copy of the 5" from the 1st pressing to trade if anybody is interested) I went for the 18 track 7" instead. anyway, you won't be disappointed from their 7" neither as it delivers blistering, furious FASTCORE that comes with outstanding lyrics with quite a bit sarcasm here and there (e.g. STUPID BILLS: OFF TO THE RECORD STORE... WHERE DID ALL MY MONEY GO? good question that I'd ask myself quite often if there would be any record stores here I guess - Satan bless the distros!) and is really gut-ripping just as the title oft the b-side promises.

GET YOUR SHIT DONE

I stumbled over a rip of HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH's demo from 2005 somewhere on the web some time ago as it has 16 tracks and the tape just had 15 I assume it's a rip from one of the 11 CD-R demos that had 1 bonustrack. HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH call Boise/Idaho home, play fast as fuck HARDCORE (they've released a 5" with 20 tracks on it) and are among my favorite bands at the moment!
