AUS FORSCHUNG UND TECHNIK

DROWNING ROSES were the follow up band to NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES. as NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES were one of Germany´s best bands expect this to be good! fast, melodic PUNK on side a and more darker stuff on side b. sadly they started to use English lyrics here and on their 1st 12" there were no more German lyrics at all!

  1. This is exactly the type of german punk I love.
They sound exactly like the used to.Why did they change the name?
    Great record!Do they have more?

  2. they changed the name when 2 of the members left NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES. they´ve 2 12"es as well I think (just got the 1st one called YOUTH OF METROPOLIS). b.t.w. 10 years after NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES split up they reformed for one tour and I should have a 7" that I think was released for this tour!

  5. I think Youth of metropolis is the 2nd LP, recorded in summer 89; the other one (Things are not the same) is from 1988; they had a split EP with NO FX too. I have the Y.o.M. LP and I don't like it that much, I'll try with this one. Btw I thought the only ex Neurotic Arseholes member here was bassist Zahni and I read Drowning Roses hated being compared with NA!!
    Thanks for sharing.
Oh, I'm researching the blog and I found the links for some gems are dead - could you please re-up Toxoplasma and Canalterror? I'm surprised that some old great posts dint' have any comments (I'm new here), yeah, give'm some iron maiden (the torturing machine not the band) and Peitsche!
    Saludos,
    Fernando

  6. according to the record cover there are 2 NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES guys playing in this band. it maybe that the YOUTH OF METROPOLIS is the 2nd 12" I don´t like it that much neither and never heared the other! I had the split 7" with NO/FX on tape and as far as I remember they were quite good on that one!

  8. Maybe there were 2 ex Neurotic Arseholes originally? Who was the other one? The drummer? But in Y.o.M. there only remains Zahni. Btw I've just read that Drowning Roses before this EP had a "legendary" demo too.
Thanx in advance for the re-ups of those classics; enjoy your trip!
    Fernando :)

Bene, would you mind to upload the 12" "Youth of Metropolis" ?

Me and a friend are searching it for more than 5 years.

  13. Drowning Roses started before Neurotic Arseholes stopped. So Drowning Roses are no follow-up band - they only have the same bass-player - who also is one of the two lead-singers in Drowning Roses. I've seen them this year and they still rock.
