ladies and gentlemen, AM I MEAN? proudly presents the NEON BITCHES demo! the NEON BITCHES are those 4 lovely gents on the pic above. well, you now may think that they look like a band that hasn't realized that the times of Woodstock are long gone and expect them to play some sort of Hippie music... if that's the case let me tell you: you're wrong!
I got this demo via e-mail from their singer Josh. he wrote that he sent me this cause I did some posts covering the works of his old band STRAIGHT TO HELL and as STRAIGHT TO HELL - Aaron Ulcer = NEON BITCHES he thought I maybe would like the NEON BITCHES demo as well and that was no bad guess cause I really like it! the 4 tracks are fast, they sound pissed off and they remind me of, you guessed it: STRAIGHT TO HELL... now, that was a just a joke as they don't sound as much like STRAIGHT TO HELL as one would expect especially asNEON BITCHES don't stray from the path that STRAIGHT TO HELL had taken before but the NEON BITCHES sound (intentionally) a lot more ROCK than STRAIGHT TO HELL ever sounded and even though Josh does a good job on the vocals his vocals sound completely different to the unique in sound and brutality vocals of Aaron, who's among my all-time-top-4-HC-singers (the other 3 would be Darryl of CITIZENS ARREST, John of NEGATIVE APPROACH, Mike of GEHENNA and the guy from HAYMAKER would be right behind on # 5! ). sure they don't reinvent the wheel if you've listened to their songs for several times start to recognize similarities but they show face and I guess they'll evolve into a band one should reckon with! sad but true: thel NEON BITCHES that aren't Josh hate these recordings and so the demo wasn't officially released yet and most likely it will never be! but as Josh is a cool guy who happens to like my blog and therefore decided to give me the recordings and the permission to post them here in case I like them (that translates to: if you got the demo from another blog they stole it here! ) so that at least some people get the chance to hear it! click on the pic below to download!
I also finally scored a copy of the NO EXIT tape compilation that feat. CATHARSIS, INTEGRITY, BLOODSHED, LINE DRIVE, XESSIVE FORCE, REFUGE and POLYESTER COWBOYS and was released by INSIDE FRONT REC. as INSIDE FRONT REC. # 1.
I had posted this comp. before and and wrote that you should download this comp. 7", that features CONFRONT, FACE VALUE, INSIGHT, LIFE CYCLE, MEANSTREAK and INTEGRITY, for INTEGRITY´s song DARKNESS alone! once upon a time INTEGRITY have been among the cream of the crop and this track is among their best! the rest of the comp. is solid (S.E.) HARDCORE but no match for the brutality of INTEGRITY! the reason why I post it again is I finally scored a 1st press copy of the ONLY THE STRONG 7" compilation. and this one came in a red cover which is glued cardboard and not just a thin gatefold paper cover like the 2nd press and way more important with a lyric booklet which I scanned and included! I left out one page in the booklet that just was advertising other VICTORY releases.
posting the SPAZZ / GOB split 5" is my attempt to help my fellow blogger Mark a.k.a. Batguano of FUGITIVE EQUILIBRIUM in his quest of spreading the gospel of GOB on his blog. this little rager here delivers 6 tracks from SPAZZ that sound like one expects SPAZZ to sound: spastic, fast & brutal! and 1 GOB track that sounds like one expects GOB to sound: dirty, mean & brutal! came in a plastic sleeve with the cover resembling a pack of guitar strings. first pressing has 1900 on black vinyl, and 100 on pink. 2nd pressing had 1000 pressed, about 300-500 on clear with remastered sound. this rip is made from a 5" of the 1st press cause I didn't know about the remastered sound till some minutes ago but as I got both versions I'll check how big the differences are and maybe rip the remastered version if the differences are really big!

as promised to Justin of MUSTARD RELICS here's IRON LUNG's split 7" with SCURVY BASTARDS which are somehow strange bed-mates for IRON LUNG.as their track is mid-paced PUNK with a heavy leaning towards FOLK (or whatever one might call it). not really bad, actually I find their track quite amuseing I must admit, just not what I expected from a band that shares a split with IRON LUNG. speaking of IRON LUNG they deliver 3 tracks and none of them's a let-down. seems as they just can't do wrong -.every IRON LUNG release (I've heard so far) slays! and they've really great artwork on the cover and the label once again!

I just bought their 7" cause it was released on 625 THRASH which normally means it's music that's right up my alley which is especially true for MINDLESS MUTANT. if I'm not mistaken then it's members of SPAZZ and LOOK BACK AND LAUGH showing you the fine art of badassness here! if that's true I'd say although LOOK BACK AND LAUGH is a great band in it's own right the members should invest more time in their side-projects cause it happens that those are brilliant bands that rip shit up! if you don't believe me listen to this little gem or get yourself ripped a new asshole by CALIFORNIA LOVE! fuck, I'd have nearly forgotten to tell you that they score extra points for the "Thug Life" artwork on the inner sleeve!
...this is a soundtrack that fits your mood! for reasons that won't be discussed here I'm in the Life sucks! mood at the moment and as usual that means GEHENNA's 1st 12" and HAMMERHEAD's 1st 12" are on heavy rotation here which translates to I don't really listen to anything else more or less but among the (few) exceptions are SOUL SWALLOWER's 3 track demo from 2005 and their 7" which was released on COLLAPSE REC. also in 2005 cause SOUL SWALLOWER's dirty, brutal, ugly and spiteful music sounds like it was especially made to be listened to if in such a mood! not even the, on the demo included, cover of YOUTH OF TODAY's EXPECTATIONS takes away only a little bit of SOUL SWALLOWER's harshness! as I found the demo somewhere in the depths of the web there's no artwork as I don't have that (hint! hint!)!
I posted FINAL DRAFT's 7" just a few days ago but as I had ripped their split with APATHETIC RONALD McDONALD (or A.R.M. in short) too I thought I should just follow up with it! you'll get 7 tracks from A.R.M. and 4 tracks from FINAL DRAFT and as both bands should be no strangers to you I'll leave it like that! oh, one thing I'd like to add is that I also think that FINAL DRAFT's 7" is better than their stuff here! click the cover!
I finally got my hands on a copy of LEGION's HELL AT LAST 7"! after this 7" was released LEGION changed/expanded their name to LEGION DCLXVI or LEGION 666 in short as there were some other bands that also called themselves LEGION. well, like the only band called GEHENNA that matters is from San Diego/U.S. the only band called LEGION that matters is from Toronto/Ca.! period! this is their 1st 7" released by UGLY POP in 1999 and their trademark, merging HARDCORE and BLACK METAL into a unique sound, can already be heard on this 7". of course here it's far from what they did on their brilliant last full-length but it's also far from being bad! actually it's really good especially when you consider the fact that this was their 1st 7"! another plus would be their radical anti-christian stance and the nice labels so don't hesitate and click the cover to download!
to the rule of thumb that compilation 7"es have to suck would be the PROTOTYPE comp. on CLEAN PLATE which features DISDAIN, DEFAULT, APT. 213, ULCER, UNSETTLED & LACERATION, ok, DEFAULT aren't my cup of coffee but the rest of the bands, especially the mighty ULCER, rip shit up! click the cover to download!
a.k.a. Inglewood the home of DESPISE YOU and also the home of FINAL DRAFT which play an amazing brand of GRINDCORE and left me with a dropped jaw after I had played this 7" for the 1st time! the 3 vatos rush trough the 9 tracks, that include a cover of , you guessed it DESPISE YOU and some cool HIP HOP interludes (what else if you're from Inglewood?), like there's no tomorrow. this 7" is another future classic released by 625 THRASH! click on the cover to download!

I've posted NO COMMENT's masterpiece, the DOWNSIDED 7", some time ago in spite of the fact that you can download their discography on nearly every 2nd blog cause I think the 7" has a better sound and hits a lot harder than the discography 12". this 7" doesn't have a better sound (if I'm not mistaken) but it has a track that was excluded from the discography (which most people don't seem to realize)! as the song SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES has pro-capitol punishment lyrics and the singer later realized how stupid that is the song was not included on the discography. which is a shame as an explanation that the lyrics are stupid and that they aware of the fact but included the track to show that one can progress wouldn't leave the foul taste of taking the easy way out, music-wise the track is classic NO COMMENT - 1st generation POWER VIOLENCE that takes no prisoners as are the other tracks on this 7" (that was released by NO COMMENT themselves in 1989 I think). and while COMMON SENSELESS is not as hard hitting as DOWNSIDED it still wipes the floor with most other records!
I've re-upped GOGATHA's ICH WEISS NICHT OB ICH WEINEN ODER KOTZEN SOLL 7" and included the track from the PLOT comp. as bonus! b.t.w. it's a new rip and this time ripped with 320 kbits! click the cover!
as I thought it might be about time for some IRON LUNG once again you can download their split 7" with AGENTS OF ABHORRENCE which was released by Australia's MISSING LINK, is named SILENT DECAY and delivers you 5 new sick ragers from IRON LUNG and another 4 tracks from AGENTS OF ABHORRENCE. in my opinion IRON LUNG take the cake here cause AGENTS OF ABHORRENCE have the same problems here as they've had on their split with EXTORTION again: they've to battle against a band that is way ahead of them. they fought tooth and claw on that split 7"and here they do the same but in my ears they are no match for IRON LUNG as IRON LUNG are one of the sickest bands around now period! which is no wonder as one of them plays also in GEHENNA (which will release some new stuff soon b.t.w.) and GEHENNA just can't be beat! can't! came on grey vinyl!
