WITCHES ON FIRE

a while ago I was lucky enough to snatch the 3rd part of the WITCHES SABBATH series, on which PULLING TEETH do a cover of POISON IDEA's ALAN'S ON FIRE for just 6 U$D. when I found the 7" in my post box a few days later without the usual customs bullshit I suddenly had the strange thought that this was almost too much luck for one 7" which was absolutely the case as I figured out only minutes later cause the 7" arrived quite wraped and also has what's called a reversed groove (needle runs from the inside to the outside) and so can hardly be played. the 2 things together make the needle jump off of the 7" into the off. when I told the guy from which I bought the 7" about it's shape and attached a picture to proof my claim he was really cool and refunded me at once. lucky me, again, right?! so I tested my luck and thanks to my turntable and a little effort from me I really was not only able to play it at least once but could also record it. you'll get a rip of that recording when you click on the cover even though that's not the best sounding rip I ever made. the password is mean.

SHIN TO TEETH

as both tracks from the SHIN TO SHIN / PULLING TEETH split 7" are also included in the A389 Records compilation one can d/l for free I think posting them here too won't hurt anybody's feelings. anyway, this was supposed to be a split 5" and I assume it ended as a 7" cause the SHIN TO SHIN track runs 2:55 which is 30 seconds too long for a 5". as I got a weak spot for 5"es, etc. I'd normally be really pissed off that it was released as a 7" instead of the 5" it was supposed to be but this split is an exception! I've already told you before that it contains only one track from each band 7". and while the PULLING TEETH track is far from being bad and has everything you wish for if fast metallic (obviously SLAYER influenced) HARDCORE is your thing it's no match for the inferno SHIN TO SHIN unleash! I never doubted that Aaron Melnick would let me down with his new band but I'd have never thought that he could pull off something like this! this is the most perfect mix of G.I.S.M. and Clevo styled HARDCORE I've ever heard and every fucking second of this track slays! PULLING THE FRIGHTENER'S TEETH

it's PULLING TEETH vs. FRIGHTENER on this 7" and I couldn't say who wins! both bands fight tooth and claw to take the crown but in my ears it's a draw. even though PULLING TEETH love to throw in METAL parts in their HARDCORE here and there. sweet artwork and colored wax what more can you ask for?
